Human Rights Youth Festival dedicated to International Human Rights Day

The UN Officе for Human Rights for Central Asia held a Youth Festival for Human Rights on the occasion on the International Human Rights Day, 10 December.
This year, the Human Rights Day was dedicated to reducing inequality and was based on Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
The Festival was attended by young ambassadors of the SDGs and activists of public organizations. The festival brought together 16 young boys and girls.
On the first day, the participants gained knowledge about the concept of human rights and international mechanisms of protection in the field of human rights. Youth leaders also learned the objectives of the UN Youth Strategy 2030.The second day of the festival was devoted to the topic of international approaches to equality and non-discrimination. During the festival, participants gave various examples from life and analyzed practical cases.
"Young people play an important role in fostering an environment of equality, non-discrimination and the promotion of the value of human rights, and we must empower, support and create every opportunity for young people to fulfill their potential." Said Yulia Votslava, Coordinator of National Youth Programs, Human Rights Office.
