About 300 young people presented the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through modern dances at the performance organized by the United Nations and the Music Society of Turkmenistan with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Dance Festival aimed to raise public awareness about Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and was part of the Programme of SDG Month of October. With thematic dances, the performers conveyed the ideas and principles of Agenda 2030 through contemporary choreography with the core principle “leaving no one behind”.
“This is the first ever SDG Dance Festival and I hope we will be able to convey the main ideas of 17 Global Goals, which are designed to improve world peace, promote economic growth, protect the environment and fight climate change”, noted Ms. Elena Panova, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan welcoming the public gathered at the festival.
More than eight hundred spectators at the Concert Hall welcomed all performances with standing ovations. The Festival ended with Awarding Ceremony of Master Choreographers and small gifts to all participants.
