International Consultant/Expert to organize a national workshop on best practices in national migration strategy development and share the desk review findings and recommendations

IOM in Turkmenistan is looking for international Consultant/Expert to organize a national workshop on best practices in national migration strategy development and share the desk review findings and recommendations.

Within the frame of the present assignment, the Consultant/Expert should conduct an online training covering the following topics (the topics can vary and go beyond the above mentioned one):

• Provide guidance in collecting and analysing data on migration and development;
• Explain the need for the government to develop the methodological materials on migration data collection and its analysis,
• Provide practical guidance to policymakers and practitioners on the measurement of migration and its impact on development;
• Present good practices and lessons learned undertaken by the other countries (CA region countries for example);
• Improve guidance on how the data collection and analysis should be undertaken based on the international principles and guidelines;
• Provide existing standards and definitions for the collection and dissemination of migration statistics;
• Provide an overview of the main sources for migration statistics and include an inventory of the availability of data
• Showcase the main international datasets on international migrants and international migration and indicates how they can be used for policymaking;
• Provide examples of good practices for the collection of migration data and their use in policy-making;.
• Summarize key recommendations that countries may wish to follow when producing and using migration data for development.
