Held from April 21 to 24, 2025, in a hybrid format, the sessions brought together representatives from key government ministries, state entities, and UN Agencies. The aim was to identify and address existing data gaps related to SDG indicators and enhance the quality, coverage, and timeliness of statistical reporting.

The meetings were conducted under the framework of the Roadmap for Strengthening SDG Reporting in Turkmenistan 2025-2027, which outlines a strategic approach to improve monitoring mechanisms and align national priorities with global development objectives.

Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in open, technical and in-depth discussions on a broad range of development issues including improvement of wellbeing, education, health, water and sanitation, infrastructure, environmental sustainability, agriculture, governance, and access to justice.

Key thematic areas covered during the four-day meeting series included a range of critical development issues. On the first day, discussions focused on data gaps in wellbeing, unpaid care and domestic work, education outcomes, urban infrastructure, and access to public services. The second day emphasized the need to strengthen agricultural data, improve food security, secure land rights, and enhance the tracking of sustainable consumption and production. Environmental concerns took center stage on the third day, with particular attention to ecosystems, greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, and corporate sustainability practices. The final day addressed improvements in data related to governance, public trust, anti-corruption efforts, and access to justice and information.
