Today, together with the entire world, we celebrate Human Rights Day — “Human Rights: our daily life foundations.”
Human rights are not abstract values. They are the foundations that guide us every day: the right to safety, to dignity, to a voice, to education, to belonging to a community.
Here in Turkmenistan, we work together with the government, civil society, and other partners to strengthen national institutions, update legislation, and promote inclusive policies.
Last month, we launched the development of a new National Human Rights Action Plan for 2026–2030 — our shared commitment to protect and promote the rights of every person.
Human rights are positive: they not only protect but also bring joy, safety, and opportunities, making our lives dignified and fulfilling.
They are essential: they are the foundation that allows us to develop as individuals. On this shared basis, we unite as equals, regardless of race, gender, beliefs, origin, or status.
And they are achievable: not only through laws and institutions, but through each of our choices — respect for others, willingness to defend justice, and the desire to build a society based on equality, dignity, and solidarity.
Today I call all of you: know your rights, respect the rights of others.
Happy Human Rights Day!
