UNODC conducted informational campaign to mark the WDD under the slogan “Know more, care more”

The theme of this year’s WDD, “Better Knowledge for Better Care”
United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Program Office in Turkmenistan jointly with USAID Enriching Youth for Tomorrow Project implemented by JA Worldwide with the partnership of the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan, “Ish Nokady” Economical Society, “Keyik Okara” Public Society conducted informational campaign devoted to the International Day on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking commonly known as World Drug Day (WDD).
The theme of this year’s WDD, “Better Knowledge for Better Care”, highlights the need to understand drug dynamics involving so many millions of people, to know better what the issues are and to provide better care for those who need it.
Due to COVID-19 situation the event was conducted by splitting up participants in small groups and uniting them online.
Being our future and at the same time one of the most vulnerable groups, about 60 representatives of the youth was engaged into the campaign.
During the opening speech Ms. Elena Panova, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan stressed that we need civil society and youth organizations to continue their efforts to support the vulnerable in their communities.
The campaign ended with questions and answers, interactive quiz and rewarding.
