Ashgabat, 13 July 2026 – The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in Turkmenistan, in cooperation with national counterparts, convened a technical meeting to discuss discrepancies and gaps in reporting on selected Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators. The meeting brought together representatives of key government institutions, including the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the State Statistics Committee, and the Ministry of Finance and Economy, to support evidence-based monitoring of progress towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Ashgabat, 3 July 2026 – UN Human Rights Central Asia (OHCHR) organized a series of workshops in Ashgabat from 30 June to 2 July to strengthen disability rights advocacy and promote inclusive communication in line with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). The events brought together journalists and government press officers, content creators, representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), civil society activists, bloggers, to advance understanding of rights-based approaches to disability and media representation. The advocacy sessions were facilitated by Ms. Xenia Simincuic, Human Rights Officer from the UN Human Rights Office in Moldova.
Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, 03 July 2026 – The UNODC Programme Office in Turkmenistan, in partnership with members of the Regional Youth Network for Central Asia (RYNCA), successfully concluded its week-long initiative, “Prevention Starts with Me,” held in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The programme, hosted at the UN Building in Ashgabat from 25 June to 2 July 2026, empowered the adolescents and youth, aged 13–18, with the skills and motivation to lead healthy, drug-free lives.
Participants explored how future water availability may impact food security, employment, social protection, biodiversity, and economic development.
30 children aged 10–12 at the “Yashlyk” children’s camp in Gökdere took part in an interactive climate learning session.
Participants discussed opportunities to advance INFFs as a coordination framework for SDG financing.
Every smile, every game, and every lesson helped build a more inclusive and brighter future for all children.
